:: Learning through Play -

Playschool is a school for toddlers between 2 to 4 years. In a Playschool, toddlers can interact and play with other children in a safe and controlled environment. This encourages their natural curiosity and enhances the socialization process.

The act of playing is an important tool that influences a child's life. The primary goals of childhood are to grow, learn, and play. It is often through play that children learn to make sense of the world around them. It is a child's "job" or "occupation" to play to develop physical coordination, emotional maturity, social skills to interact with other children, and self-confidence to try new experiences and explore new environments.

The main focus of a playschool is socialization, where teachers provide children with ample opportunities to play and learn the valuable peer interaction skills they will need as adults. Good programs feature a wide variety of fun activities - including singing, dancing, arts and crafts, storytelling, free play, and both indoor and outdoor games and projects - designed to teach children different skills. Children may also learn some academic basics such as counting and the alphabet. Plus, most playschool teachers have training in early childhood education, so they know what to expect from your child developmentally and are able to help him along accordingly.

Preschool education can look deceptively simple and is often thought to be the same. It is scientifically and specifically designed to promote personal and social development, language and literacy, mathematics, creative development, knowledge and understanding of the world and physical development.

Often parents wonder what it is that their children do all day when they carry home an empty bag. This poem was found on another website and it seems to answer the question perfectly.
